The Illinois Press Association is looking to fill the position of Communications Specialist.

This position involves assisting all departments of the IPA, including but not limited to: Advertising, Foundation, Media Monitoring and Technology.

Must be experienced in reporting, page layout, graphic design, and creating marketing materials.
Support Desk and/or some technology experience helpful as well as previous newspaper experience.

Required Skills:

• Full understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud; including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
• Ability to update websites and social media accounts.
• The ability to create print and digital content to deliver interesting, accurate and factual information about Illinois newspapers & newspaper industry issues.
• Self-motivation with confidence and discipline necessary to complete multiple projects accurately and efficiently.
• PC and Mac knowledge.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or greater in journalism or related communications field and/or  5+ years of experience.
