The Lincoln Courier, a six-day a week paper in Lincoln, ll., has an immediate opening for a sports editor. The sports editor plans coverage and writes and photographs local high school sports, as well as some recreational sports. He/she coordinates with the sports department at the State-Journal Register, its sister paper, on regional coverage issues, and also makes wire story choices for the sports section.
The sports editor should have at least six months' professional (or significant college/intern) experience. A college degree is strongly preferred. Applicants must be self-starters, extremely organized, possess good knowledge of sports and AP Style and be proficient with social media. Photography experience/skills are highly desired..
