The Paris Beacon-News is an award winning, small daily in East Central Illinois. We are currently looking for an enterprising newshound to join our staff. As a morning paper, printed five days a week (Tues-Sat), our reporters work evenings throughout the week in addition to covering weekend assignments. Being a part of a small newspaper requires a certain amount of tenacity and flexibility. You have to be ready for whatever the day throws at you. This is a general assignment position, and the chosen applicant will be required to report on a variety of topics--from city council to the local FFA, as well as feature stories and opinion pieces. A background in InDesign and Photoshop is strongly desired. Recent college graduates are urged to apply. We offer a competitive salary and complete benefits package.
