Capitol News Illinois, a nonprofit and nonpartisan news organization that covers state government from Springfield, Illinois, seeks a full-time reporter to cover the General Assembly, state offices and agencies, and Illinois courts. Capitol News Illinois coverage is published in more than 420 daily and nondaily newspapers statewide with a combined circulation of more than 2 million. We produce print and digital content as well as the Capitol Cast podcast, and are looking to add broadcast and video elements to our reporting. You will join a talented and experienced team of journalists at the Capitol that is committed to our mission of providing credible and unbiased coverage of state government that helps address a shrinking press corps at the Statehouse. Prior experience of covering Illinois state government is preferred but not required.
