General Assignment Reporter - The Rockford Register Star is seeking a full-time, digitally savvy reporter responsible for producing engaging stories for publication across our multiple platforms — daily print, website and specialty publications. The successful candidate must have a degree in journalism or a related field and two years' reporting experience for a daily newspaper or online news site. The skills required for this position include the ability to write on tight deadlines for multiple platforms, the ability to break news using social media, and a conversational writing style that renders even complex topics interesting to the reader. Copy editing experience is a plus. (We also like a sense of humor — that's what makes this a fun place to be.)
